HISTORIES, HISTORICAL PHOTOGRAPHS & ARTICLES WANTED For Sale in Saskatchewan Classified Ad

Scott, Saskatchewan will be celebrating its Centennial Birthday on the weekend of July 16th, 17th & 18th of 2010. In preparation for Scott's Centennial, a history book is now being compiled. The book will cover the Town of Scott, the community as a whole & its immediate rural areas. If you or your family have lived in the Scott area, you may have interesting stories to tell about your family's history or photographs in your personal collection which have historical significance. Our goal for the family history section is to tell the stories of all families who have lived in & around the Scott district. This includes new families who have moved to our area.

We are looking for interesting photos and stories of the Scott district in general. These should have historical community significance. We are also looking for pictures that involve the following community activities: school memories; church memories; agriculture; sports activities and recreational events; clubs, organizations and services; local businesses, occupations or trades; and photographs of town streets. We'd be especially interested in hearing from former teaches; church clergy; ex-employees of the Scott Experimental Farm and our elevators; and war veterans.

If you are interested in writing an article about any aspect of Scott's history, please send it to us and we will consider using it in the history book. Illustrations depicting wildlife and flora of this region will also be considered. Other considerations would be drawings of town streets and local buildings. All illustrations and drawings will be reduced to comply with the book's page format of 8.5" width by 11" length. Coloured images can be submitted. All artists are encouraged to submit their artwork.
